My sweet Tessa Marie passed on Saturday afternoon. We had known it was coming for a couple of days, and I think I was mostly at peace with it before the time had come. She fought long and hard for such a tiny little girl, and it was time for her to be free of pain and in eternity.
We want to thank you all for supporting us each in your own special way - whether it was the countless prayers that we know were heard, or whether it was cards and letters or kind words posted here. It's been a real blessing and encouragement to see just how many people care and how we are loved.
I had to have another emergency surgery on Saturday. I began to hemmorhage as I was holding Tessa near the very end - perhaps it was from the stress over these many weeks or maybe my body mercifully waited until it was all over and then let go. Who knows? The docs still have NO explanation for why that specific scenario would play out an entire 2 weeks after my cesarean. They tell me that hemmorhaging is common within about 48 hours of any delivery, but that this far out is just a mystery to them all! I am still in the hospital recouperating but will be discharged very soon and can then head home.

Such beautifully written words from a mother's loving heart. Thank you for sharing Sarah and Tessa with us...
Such tiny little girls, such amazing impacts they have had on so many. Such purpose God has had and still has from their lives... amazing.
You are one of the strongest people I know. God is surely with you. Hope to be able to see you soon!
I am so sorry to hear of Tessa's passing. You and your family are always in my thoughts.
Prayers also for you for a quick (and thorough!) recovery. Safe travels back home.
Love,
Jill
We are so very sorry for your loss. Everyone is in our thoughts and prayers. The strength that you and Derek share is amazing and inspiring to all.
We love you- Red, Katie, & Ireland
Our whole family has prayed every single day since your first day in the hospital.
Our deepest sympathy for you and your family. What a wonderful blessing Tessa has been to you. How in such a short time can bring so much joy to someone is amazing. Our time is not His time and He does not give us more than we can bare. Our children are on loan from the Lord, and we do not know from day to day how long He will let us raise them up for Him. I do know that He must be so proud of your duties as a mother and wife to your husband and your two beautiful children. Tessa is back with her sister, back with The Saviour who sent her, and will be waiting for the day you wrap your arms around her and Sarah once again.
Love,
A family that prays.
Kolbus Family,
We continue to pray for your family as you endure the healing process. Your strength is admired and shown in these beautifully written journal entries. May God continue to keep your family and your guardian angels in His grip.
God Bless,
Stephanie (LaCombe) Petska
Steph, just want you to know I admire your strength and courage. You are an inspiration and I pray God will continue to bless you with the strength you need.
Stef - you are so strong and my heart goes out to you, Derek and your families. Thanks so much for sharing all of what you have gone through; you are in my thoughts and I'm sending you a big Ruscher bear hug. Take care of you, too!
