This last weekend of summer was marked by beautiful weather. My best friend, Loretta, and her children came to visit and we headed out to camp to escape reality for a wee bit.

After dinner on our first night at camp, we made sure to kill every last ounce of daylight!

Nadia and Brennan enjoying toasted marshmallows.

Not sure what's going on here!

Loretta leading us in some good ole fashioned entertainment around the campfire. As soon as she whipped out the fiddle, Nadia was enthralled and wanted to learn. I tried to get a good picture of Loretta teaching Nadia to play, but one of their heads was blocking the other in every shot. :(

The end of energy; Bedtime was near.
Jungle Breakfast:
when you hide junky cereal, fresh fruit, and juice pouches in the woods and make the kids find it.

Miss Loretta getting ready to hide Jungle Breakfast, delighted that I am taking a photo of her.

Nadia found her Lucky Charms first.

Blake, being the eldest, had trouble finding ANY of his items since his were hidden so well.
Day Hike at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore

Blake, Deirdre and Brennan goofing off in front of Chapel Falls.

The moms had their cameras taken and were forced to pose.

Twelve Mile Beach (one one-hundredth of it shown here, approximately)
Back at camp - the last morning before the long drive home.

Deirdre and Brennan wanted to squeeze in just a tad bit more swimming time....

....while Blake begged, "Please Mom, can't I fish just a while longer?!"

Snack Time, Dierdre?
(That's what we call an inside joke, folks.)
Thanks, Aunt Patty, for allowing us to use your lovely camp. We had
so much fun!
