Random Thoughts

I have been kicking myself for two weeks because I keep either forgetting to bring the camera with me, or have it and find the battery dead!

Blake's football season is going well, and the team is 3-1 with two games left. Last Saturday was a gorgeous football day - leaves getting bright on the hillsides, cool and crisp weather, everyone bundled up in their sweatshirts and bleacher blankets! We've also been cruising in the woods a bit - Derek and Blake looking for an unobservant partridge, and Nadia and I quietly oooing and aahing over the pretty trees and leaves.

Oh, and I need to show you my new Jeep! I heart my Jeep. I will tell you all about it when it stops raining, which will be next week according to those who know. So at that time I will be able to take a picture of it without freezing to death in the 45 degree rain.

Oh yah, that reminds me:
Did I fail to mention that I got the job? I think I failed to mention that I even applied for one!

I begin in less than two weeks, back again with the good 'ole NWS. Come this winter, watch for me around town sniffing the air to determine the exact amount of snow that will fall on any given centimeter of land. Yah, um, in case you aren't registering the sarcasm - that's not the way it works.

So, here are the rules for conversing with me about my new job:

Don't ask me if I am going to be on TV. I am a scientist; TV is for **stars**

Don't suggest that this will be "good for me." You may catch me at a particularly non-sensitive moment, but you may not. Don't take the chance.

Tomorrow is exactly five months from the twins' birth date, and I am having a difficult week. I only realized how long it has been because I noticed I was having trouble, and thus counted. It's really not a daily grind for me - it's more like a creeps up out of nowhere and grabs me for a couple of days kind of thing. I am doing well, and truly feel that working is going to be good for me. But that's for me to say aloud, and not you. I do hope you understand...

Sorry about the rain - what did you do to the poor jeep?!?

I pray that you can embrace this time of grief as it washes over you, and that you will find new healing and peace as it begins to recede once again.

Is there a local NWS office in your area? Is it a work from home type gig? Sounds very cool and I never knew you were so stoked for weather! We launched a weather balloon from the ship the other day, does that make you smile? LOL :-)
