Somebody's Watching ME

...I ain't got no privacy...

What compels people to blog? Sharing life events with far away friends and family? The hope of improved business or networking? The satisfaction of putting their mark on something? A thirst for fame, real or imagined?

I struggle with my desire to post and my contradictory fear of losing my anonymity. Why do I care if my thoughts are read by others? Are even they so private that I must protect them as I would my children or my marriage or my bank card number? I nearly feel as though you steal a piece of me when you read these words, and yet I can't help myslef.

Perhaps as long as you never mention it - you know, the piece you take away - then I can handle the loss.

What's that they say about what we don't know..... ???
